Longcroft Luxury Cat Hotel Barry Island Wales

Longcroft Luxury Cat Hotel Barry Island, part of the multi award winning and trend setting Longcroft Luxury Cat Hotel Group is the first of its kind to open in Wales and will be run by cat lover Sarah Starbuck.

The hotel is nestled within the picturesque garden of Sarah’s beautiful family home, overlooking the seafront of Jackson’s Bay, with plenty of wildlife and many a seagull’s chirp to keep the feline guests entertained! The brand new luxury hotel is custom-built, offering just 5 very spacious, beautifully appointed hotel style suites … conveniently located just a ten minute drive away from Cardiff International Airport.

The five star accommodation offers each guest their very own private climate controlled bedroom leading out onto a further private safe day area where guests can smell fresh air and watch the birds whilst lazing on their multi-storey viewing platforms. The environment Longcroft offers is designed to be as close to the home environment as possible. With only 5 suites the hotel offers plenty of one-on-one time and will cater for cats and owners individual needs and in particular cats that have never stayed away from home before together with indoor only cats, pedigrees, nervous rescue cats, young kittens, senior cats and cats with special medical needs such as diabetes or those who require tablets or bespoke care. Sarah has passed the rigorous training courses set by Longcroft HQ and their head vet which ensures your cats are in caring expert hands whilst you enjoy your holiday.  The hotel benefits from it’s own head vet and is fully licensed by the Vale of Glamorgan Council.

The grand opening day was a huge success with guests enjoying Prosecco, cupcakes and a tour of the boutique hotel to celebrate the first five star cat hotel opening in Wales.  One of the highlights of the day was supporting Cat’s Protection with raffle prizes and donations which is part of Longcroft’s ongoing commitment.

Every detail has been meticulously planned with guest welfare, luxury and hygiene in mind.  As part of the everyday package Sarah will also send regular updates and photographs to holidaying owners of their special felines!

Sarah says “After struggling to find suitable accommodation for our own beloved family cats and spending our entire holiday worrying about how they would cope, one evening by complete chance we sat down to watch the TV where Longcroft just happened to be featured in the Channel 4 documentary “Compare your Life” and something  just clicked … we knew that we had to get in touch when the time was right for us. I look forward to giving my undivided attention to my guests and will treat them as I would my own cats, our guests form part of our family. We offer an authentic home-from-home experience where every guest enjoys the highest level of expert care and attention.”

longcroftHaving sailed through licensing with flying colours and checking in their first feline guests, the new hotel has already been rated 5 star by their loving humans!
