Nicole and Judd share their beautiful, rural home with their two much-loved Scottish Fold cats: Luna is a sweet natured and playful tortoiseshell and the appropriately named ‘Blu’ is happiest when being cuddled or being spoiled with treats! The couple, originally from South Africa, are huge cat fans. Nicole grew up surrounded by pets and volunteering at local animal shelters.

“Luna and Blu are such a huge part of our lives, and they have taught us just how much trust it takes to leave your cats in someone else’s care. That is a big part of why we want Longcroft Garmouth to feel warm, safe, personal and reassuring for every cat and every owner.”

Nicole and Judd both love working from home, running their own businesses, so they are close to cats throughout the day. Judd is a Senior Software Engineer and has worked in the technology industry for many years. Nicole runs a magnet supply company with her mother and has also recently completed a Diploma in Silver jewellery making and takes on jewellery commissions.
“Opening a Longcroft hotel has really grown from a lifelong love of cats. The idea of opening a cat hotel first started when Judd and I were living in England and planning a holiday. We needed somewhere for Luna and Blu to stay, but we found it quite difficult to find accommodation that felt right.

“Finding a Longcroft hotel near us completely changed how we felt about boarding our cats. Luna and Blu were so happy and settled during their stays and I fell in love with the idea of having a Longcroft hotel ourselves. When we moved to Scotland, we found ourselves facing the same challenge to find suitable accommodation for our cats and our garden offered the perfect, peaceful location.

“Longcroft Garmouth is inspired by our experience as cat owners. We know how much trust it takes to leave your cats in someone else’s care, and we want every owner to feel the same reassurance we felt when Luna and Blu had their first Longcroft stay. Our goal is to offer a safe, calm, loving place where cats are treated as individuals and cared for as if they were our own family members.

“We are really looking forward to getting to know our customers and their special felines’ personalities, routine, likes, dislikes and quirks. One of the most rewarding parts will be helping owners feel relaxed. They can enjoy their time away without worrying, because their cats are in safe and loving hands, in a calm, secure, and homely environment. We are excited to be part of each cat’s little story - from welcoming nervous first-time guests and helping them settle, to seeing familiar faces return and knowing exactly what makes them happy. It will be a real privilege to care for such loved family members and to give every cat the individual attention, patience and kindness they deserve.”
