Longcroft Cat Hotel by far the best we have ever come across

We are so happy to have found Abi and her beautiful cat hotel. Our two cats stayed for the first time recently and seemed to settle in immediately. We were pleasantly surprised to hear from Abi while we were away informing us that they were quite happy and totally chilled. This type of reassurance, the wonderful setting and Abi's genuine love and knowledge of cats makes this Hotel by far the best we have ever come across and we have owned cats for many years. Great cat hotel, Aly is really nice and welcoming, and puts you at ease as you can see she genuinely loves cats. We had daily updates with pictures while we were away which was nice as you could see everything was ok. Our two will definitely be staying again, highly recommend.

Planning our next trip already!

Our sensitive pair of pedigrees were unused to boarding so we were nervous about leaving them. As soon as we arrived our minds were at rest. They were obviously going to be well looked after. And they were. Abi was happy for us to stay in touch and even sent a cute picture of them relaxing comfortably! Planning our next trip will be much less stressful.

Amazing facilities !

We cannot give enough praise to Abi and the amazing facilities at the Longcroft Luxury Cat Hotel. Everything about our experience has been first class, Abi bent over backwards to accommodate our requirements and cared for our precious British Blue, Toby, like he was her own (we wondered if he wanted to come home!!). Excellent! Robbie is great - v friendly and goes out of his way to keep you up to date and make sure the cats are settled and relaxed. The suites are large and immaculate. All in all just a completely different experience to typical catteries. Would strongly recommend!

We left our little 11 month old cat Petal for the first time at at a cattery with Gill fir six nights. Having previously visited Gill, we were impressed with the cleanliness and space of the suites. Having visited a number of catteries closer to home we were in no doubt that Gill was the top of our list. She genuinely cares for her visitors and sent us regular texts and emails letting us know how Petal was doing. It's definitely worth paying a little bit extra to know your cat is comfortable and being cared for so attentively.

My first impressions were outstanding. Very clean and well thought out accommodation for my 2 fur babies! Longcroft answered all my questions beforehand and all went very smoothly. Upon collecting my cats I could tell they were relaxed, happy and had been well looked after, in fact one in particular didn't want to get in his carrier to go home! Have booked them in for my next holiday and I wouldn't hesitate to recommend Longcroft.

We've already booked again for our summer break

Maya has just returned from a 10 day stay being pampered by the wonderful Gill at Longcroft St Albans. I don't mean to be disparaging about the hard working people at 'normal' catteries but Maya returned from one of the better ones in the Summer clearly traumatised. She is a timid pedigree and mainly an indoor cat. She was so much happier at Longcroft and this time we could also relax while we were away, enjoying the regular pics and emails from Gill. Maya could enjoy her regular food, toys and bowl and was perfectly groomed too. We've already booked again for our Summer break. Thanks again Gill.

It's the best holiday they have ever had

Having viewed at least 10 places locally and feeling very disheartened by the lack of connection with the proprietors , their lack of real passion in cats and also seeing that the cat suites where nothing more than just a basic wooden shelter with little security I was about to give up. Then I saw an advert for Longcroft Luxury Cat Hotel, I immediately went the website and I knew there and then that I had found my cats the perfect safe place. Having put my 16yr old in a cattery before he had destroyed his room, pulled the cat flap away from the internal wall, so I was really worried. But to my surprise he quickly took to Abi and his new holiday home, within a few minutes he was eating and quiet contended. The 2 girls both seemed a little more cautious but after a while settled in happily. Abi knew it was my first time leaving them in a new place and that my eldest was on tablets and my youngest was very nervous and hated being away from me for long periods, but I knew they were safe and Abi would look after them. It was the first time I have left them and not looked back wondering if they are OK, are they happy? Which actually made my vacation more enjoyable. When I returned to collect them I was a little sad that they did not rush to meet me, instead they were lying on their beds chilling in no rush to move. I have already booked their next Holiday for 2015. If they could actually speak to me they would say ‘it’s the best holiday they have ever had and could I go away more often’.

There's no place like home but Longcroft comes a very close second

I left my young, furry children, Rex and Juno with Emma at Longcroft for as long as I dared last November. I really need not have worried a bit! Emma so obviously adores cats that both my adventurous girl and my bashful little boy could not have been in better hands. Rex suffers from epilepsy requiring medication twice a day which Emma wasn't a bit phased by and upon my return, I was greeted by two very happy, healthy and relaxed cats. Naturally, there's no place like home but Longcroft comes a very close second. There just isn't anything better out there for cat owners who want the very best care and comfort for their babies when unable to provide it themselves.

I have definitely found the place were I will send my cats to, anytime I go away

I was impressed from my initial visit, so much so, I booked in my cats there and then. Longcroft was not only great with my cats and took great care of them, but looked after me too in regards to keeping me updated with how they were whilst I was away. My cats loved the treats and toys they received and still play with them now - Bella goes nuts playing with it! I have definitely found the place were I will send my cats to, anytime I go away. Regular updates on how she was doing made me relax and enjoy my holiday!

This was the first time I boarded my cat and even as I dropped her off I realised I had absolutely no cause for worry. The location was beautiful and her suite was warm and cozy. Everything was clean and very well maintained. Since she was staying over Christmas, she even had Santa visit with a cute pink stocking full of goodies! My request for a special medical diet and grooming routine was easily accommodated and the regular updates on how she was doing made me relax and enjoy my holiday. I would be happy to have her stay here next time we go away. Totally recommend it!

Bella is our new kitten and is 3 months old and we left her with Gill at the Longcroft Hotel, she seemed very happy when we left her, we went away for 4 days and Gill very kindly sent us a photo of Bella enjoying herself at the hotel.
Gill is a very kind and warm person and made us feel very relaxed in leaving Bella, when we collected her she seemed very contented.
We would highly recommend Longcroft hotel to anyone wanting to leave their cats/kittens, they are well looked after.

Cannot recommend enough

I booked for our cat Mowgli to stay over Easter - it was our first holiday since rescuing him and I was a little nervous about leaving him. He needs regular grooming, and requires a specialist diet - but it was absolutely wonderful and so accomodating. She took great care of him and kept us updated with emails and photos, which was all so reassuring. The suites are very spacious and incredibly clean, plenty of climbing furniture in each one to keep the cats occupied. Cannot recommend enough.

Judith is super helpful and doesn't mind accommodating however many questions you have! Mitzey clearly had a super holiday there especially as we were worried she is such a quiet and timid cat who had never been away from us before. Looked after so well I don't think he wanted to come home!

Trying to find a cattery that you trust, feel that your cat is safe and in a clean and healthy environment is difficult to do (especially if you have not left your cat before) but as soon as I met Gill and delivered our 6 month Kitten Peanut to her I felt so happy and any worry soon disappeared. Gill is a lovely caring person who treated Peanut as one of her own, Longcroft Luxury Cat Hotel is spotless clean, plenty of room in the suite and he was looked after so well I don't think he wanted to come home! We had updates from Gill via Photos on how well Peanut was doing which put your mind at rest and he looked like he was having a great time!

I would recommend Gill to anyone that has cats and assure you that they will be looked after exceptionally well and they will also enjoy their holiday whilst you enjoy yours! Thank you Gill!

We knew we had found the purrfect place

We found Gill's cat hotel by luck when we were looking for a nice place to stay for our little cat Bella. As soon as we met Gill we knew we had found the purrfect place. Immaculately clean and warm, the Longcroft Cat Hotel is top class. Gill went out of her way to ensure that Bella was exceptionally well cared for. We received daily texts and photos which was a lovely touch and very reassuring. When Bella came home, she was very contented and settled. Clearly, she had had a very happy holiday!! Emma was fantastic with both our cats. Our young female was very nervous and she was so patient and caring with her,giving us frequent updates on how she settled in. I wish that we could give more stars to Emma! This was the first time we ever boarded our Burmese and she can be a grump when not in her comfort zone. Emma really worked with us to ensure that her stay was a great experience, both for Saffron and for us. From making sure that she had a "corner suite" to being really flexible on "check-in" and check-out" times and even sending us an update email during our holiday, Emma really made the whole process wonderful! We could not speak anymore highly of the Winchmore Hill Longcroft Luxury Cat Hotel!

My cats, Tink and Meg, stayed with Gill at Longcroft St Albans for a week in June 2014 and I was extremely happy with the service Gill offered. Both of my cats were relaxed at drop off and collection and had clearly enjoyed their little holiday. Meg is quite a timid cat but Gill shared a number of picture of her stroking Meg, and Meg was very happy. They enjoyed some 'A la Cat' meals and playing with some new toys. The cat rooms at Gill's are private for the cats and they have an indoor area, accessible through a cat flap, if they want complete peace and quiet. They have a bed and a big climbing frame, along with their litter tray. The rooms are spotless and relaxing. Cats don't need to see other cats if they don't want to as the walls of each room are decorated over the glass. Each room has lovely views into Gill's garden. I loved the daily pictures Gill sent me of Meg and Tink enjoying themselves. I would 100% recommend Longcroft St Albans. Thanks Gill x.

Take it from me - a strict vegetarian, animal welfare first freak - if I'm happy for Jude to stay there, it must be good!!!

I knew that the time would come that meant I needed somewhere for my very precious Jude to stay. All the catteries I looked at seemed to have that 'just a business - standard accommodation' feel which made me really reluctant to use. Then, one Thursday afternoon, I saw the advert for Longcroft - I had to go and visit as soon as I could and when I did, well that was just the place I had been wishing for!

Longcroft was so welcoming and more importantly, a cat lover & owner who understood my fears of leaving Jude with someone else! The hotel was spotless and just felt 'right'. I can't thank Longcroft enough for the care she took of Jude - not just feeding and cleaning the litter tray but actively playing with Jude, giving him cuddles, grooming and generally having time for him.

The hotel itself oozes luxury but has the fundamental element of 'really caring for it's guests'. Take it from me - a strict vegetarian, animal welfare first freak - if I'm happy for Jude to stay there, it must be good!!!

Longcroft is Leon and Renard's second home

Just wanted to drop you a line to say thank you so much for looking after little Leon and Renard. I could not have been happier with the service nor facilities provided by Longcroft, Amersham. On first arrival you (Emma) immediately put me at ease, which wasn't easy given that I'd always used home sitters in the past and have never been keen on the idea of catteries. However, the Longcroft concept is far from a cattery and I guess the best way to describe it would be as Leon and Renards second home, which was so obvious from their content behaviour on collection. Having taken on the responsibility of two rescue kittens, I now know that they will always have the best care, whether they are at my home or yours...Thank you!

I cant put into words how grateful we are

Our 3 girls (Guinevere, Blackie and Fernie) spent a long period of time. We moved to New Zealand and had to leave them to complete 6 months period after their rabies immunisations. We were so concerned about leaving them for this long period as Guinevere usually has eating issues and Blackie was still recovering from a car accident a few months previous. We looked at a lot of other standard cattery options but were just disappointed by how these looked like concrete small boxes. Then we found Longcroft. Yes it has fancy beds etc but it was the fact that it was very clean and light and they spend all her time with the cats every day. Our cats have been spoilt - they have play time with feathers etc, they have dreamies and even poached chicken, they have cuddle time (Guin never cuddles any strangers but she had cuddles. Longcroft transported the girls to the airport when it was time to travel to NZ to join us. We would get more than weekly updates on the cats with photos etc. I cant put into words how grateful we are for looking after our girls like her own. I hope she doesn't miss them too much. We now look forward to seeing our beautiful girls at the other end in NZ.

Definitely Purr-fect!

Absolutely perfect. Most other reviewers say it, but it's true that Gill looks after your cat as if it were her own. After a bad experience with a local cattery, we made the long journey to check out The Longcroft Luxury Cat Hotel, St Albans. It's well worth the little extra expense, Pippa's every need was catered for. She put a heated pad under her basket when she slept in the unheated outdoor area. She even put a little ladder up for her to climb as she's not so agile now at 16 years. 'Aunti Gill' (as the cats refer to her!) emailed us every day with what she had been up to, and some pictures, so we were able to relax on our holiday knowing she was okay. On our return, she was a happy and well fed cat with no stress. Definitely Purr-fect!

A paradise for cats & kittens!

A paradise for cats & kittens! We left our gorgeous exotic shorthair, Garfield, there for the 1st time this weekend and the care and love he was given was outstanding. Garfield recently had a serious operation so we could only leave him somewhere very special and this was the perfect place. Harvey & John are like cat maitre d's; attentive, so pleasant, all round great people and the cat hotel itself is stunning. Our Toyger kittens Tigger and Teddy have just returned from their first holiday at the wonderful Longcroft Cat Hotel in Fontwell. No one could have looked after them better than Helen and as soon as we met her we knew they would be very well cared for. We received regular updates and photos to reassure us that they were doing fine and thoroughly enjoying their holiday. We were particulary impressed by how large and clean the suites were and how Helen personalised their stay to ensure Tigger and Teddy felt right at home. We now have two cats that can't wait for their next holiday!

A cut above the rest!

I have always found it difficult leaving my four cats at a cattery but I can honestly say that Longcroft Margate is a cut above the rest! Judith is great and my cats were truly spoilt during their stay of nearly 3 weeks. In fact I have never seen them look so well when we picked them up. I would highly recommend the Hotel and I wont be sending my feline family anywhere else except for Longcroft again. It really gave us piece of mind knowing that they were staying in such a lovely place and the regular updates and pictures that Judith sent were a real treat. A wonderful place and we look forward to booking up again soon.

If I could give more than 5 stars I would!

It was our cats first stay away from home and we were very nervous about leaving them. We didn't need to worry at all as we were kept us updated on their progress and the cats quickly settled in.

We viewed several other catteries before selecting Longcroft Luxury cat hotel in as none of them offered the same cat focused services Longcroft does. We can now book our next holiday knowing our cats will be in safe and comfortable hands.

My cat Lucy stayed at Longcroft recently, and I couldn't be happier with the whole experience. I was quite nervous leaving Lucy with a stranger, as she can be a bit of a handful, but Longcroft took care of her as if she was her own! Lucy clearly enjoyed her stay and came back totally relaxed and happy, which in turn makes me happy. I would not hesitate to recommend Longcroft, and will be booking Lucy in there again when we go away.

They knew their individual characters

Our furry babies were rescued by cat protection last year and only came to live with our family in January.
We were a little concerned how they would take to being taken away from home so soon after be re homed.
Well.
Jo could not have been better. We have used catteries in the past for our old cat and they weren't catteries they were businesses that you take your cat to whilst you went away.
We had messages and pictures from Jo almost every day and the cats always seemed content.
Jo knew their individual characters because she treated them like guests not just items in an inventory.
If you are thinking twice about bringing your cats here don't.
Ok the other places are cheaper but if you go there, they smell awful and the cats cry as soon as you go near, for attention.
At Jo's all the cats seemed content and she spoke to them as if we, the owners would.
What a fantastic concept this is and well done Jo.
Our cats are home and settled back straight away.

Be under no illusions, here your cat's health and happiness is absolutely paramount

When my Wife and I decided to marry abroad the first concern on our mind was finding the right place for Holly to stay. We had viewed so many poorly equipped Catteries that just didn't meet the standard we set for our little princess. As soon as we saw Longcroft online we knew that this was the place for us as all branches are managed under the same ethos that we would run one under.

Be under no illusions, here your cat's health and happiness is absolutely paramount. Holly stayed at St. Albans with Gill. Gill was perfect, she was in touch via email most days whilst we were abroad, with regular photos of Holly. She was magical with her, even having her sit on her lap, which is an utter privilege as she usually turns her nose up at 'outsiders'. Gill's personal touches were priceless and certainly made our trip and return so enjoyable.

We will use Longcroft from now on, whenever we are away. Absolute value for money, peace of mind and top notch care for your cat.

Abi's compassion and empathy with cats clearly shines through

It was the first time we went away on holiday with genuine peace of mind, knowing our beloved Daphne was being cared for and all her personal needs and quirky ways attended to. I'm very happy with the service and will use again

Abi took great care of my two cats recently, it was their first visit to a cat hotel and they came back very happy and relaxed. I don't have access to a car so Abi also arranged transport to and from the cat hotel, working around my availability which was much appreciated. One of my kitties gets travel stress and motion sickness which has bothered other car services I have used in the past, but it was no trouble for the Longcroft team. They were on hand to clean him up on arrival and gave me a call as well as a picture to let me know both were settling in well. I'm very happy with the service and will use again.

Absolutely fantastic!! Now I've found Longcroft I would never go anywhere else!!! Harvey took amazing care of my cat, she looked so comfy and happy when I went to pick her up. Denzel is a rescue cat and I didn't want to put him in a cattery whilst we moved house, as he would think that he had been abandoned again. Longcroft was the right choice for him. From the beautiful cat bed to the amazing scratch post/hammock/plaything the venue is perfect for pampered pets. In addition to the 'room' the thing (well, person really!) that made Denzel feel welcome was the lovely Helen. When we arrived Denzel had got a little upset and Helen made sure that he felt secure and happy before we left him to his little holiday. To reassure us even further, we received emails from Denzel telling us what he had been up to and how he had enjoyed the A La Cat menu that we had arranged for him. Extremely positive experience!

My two cats, Isabelle and Charlie, recently spent two weeks being pampered at this wonderful pet hotel. They had never been to a cattery before so I was pretty nervous about how they would cope as they tend to be rather highly strung, high maintenance creatures in general! However, I needn't have worried as they had a most wonderful stay at Longcroft. Emma is exceptionally kind, caring and organised. She looks after the cats that stay with her as if they were her own. She updated me as to how they were doing on a regular basis and I have to admit that when I finally got them home, they were calmer and more easy going than they were before their stay! I love the fact that the hotel consists of only a few cat suites which means it is a really peaceful environment and the cats get lots of individual care and attention. The suites are spotless and contain beautiful wrought iron beds (I'd like one for myself!) and lovely cat trees for scratching, climbing, snoozing etc. The suites are housed in Emma's back garden so she is able to pop in and out constantly which is very reassuring. I would not hesitate to recommend Longcroft to anyone who really cares about the wellbeing of their cats while they're away. I, for one, would not look anywhere else after this extremely positive experience.

I couldn't be happier

When I was looking for a cattery for my bengal's first stay away from home I realised that nothing but a Longcroft seemed good enough for my baby and after calling my 2 closest branches - both fully booked - I got through to Lucy who had one room left for me, how happy I am that the other branches were full up because they was absolutely fantastic!
My cat can be funny around new people and doesn't get on with everyone but he took to her straight away who so obviously loves looking after the cats in her care and he was happily exploring his suite before I left.
The suites themselves are really nice, spacious and light with gorgeous beds and a big cat tree to play on, and most importantly with my cat - very secure!
Longcroft kept me updated during my holiday with emails and photos which put my mind at ease and by the time I went to collect him he wasn't bothered about me and wanted another cuddle!
I couldn't be happier and will definitely be using Longcroft again :).

Couldn't have asked for better! My 2 cats had not been away from home before and Longcroft made sure they were settled and happy before I left. The emails and photos sent during their stay were lovely (and reassuring!). Fantastic!

We weren't sure if Betsie actually wanted to come home again!

Our kitten Betsie had a fabulous stay in the Snowdrop Suite. We felt very relaxed leaving her in such capable and caring hands. The setting is gorgeous and the suites are all clean, safe and warm...we weren't sure if Betsie actually wanted to come home again! She will certainly be back for another holiday. Ziggy had a lovely, lovely stay with Gill; they became friends immediately and I was very impressed with the wonderful facilities but most especially with Gill's care and attention.

Superb

Our two much loved cats, Marmie the ever-hungry hilarious ginger tom, and Purdy the timid sweet little tabby girl, have just had their first ever stay away from home. The accommodation was superb: definitely unbeatable for comfort and cleanliness. Harvey looked after them really well, and sent us an update to assure us they were settling in. He even trained Marmie to use a cat flap, Harvey and John obviously care for both the cats and their owners. We can highly recommend the Longcroft Cat Hotel. We will definitely be booking them in for another holiday when we have our summer dates. We will have to do this as soon as possible - once word gets round they will be fully booked! It truly was a holiday for Rambo

Longcroft is an absolutely fantastic place for cats and nervous cat owners! We left Rambo @ Longcroft and although we were worried about leaving him at first, we very shortly realised there was no cause for concern. They very welcoming and helped Rambo settle in straight away. During our week outside of the UK, we received regular updates in the form of photos and a postcard, we were in no doubt that he was being cared for and pampered 24/7. Rambo came home relaxed, happy, nicely groomed and smelling very fresh! He showed no signs of stress and was back to his old ways within seconds. It truly was a holiday for him. We fully intend to use Longcroft in the future and have absolutely no doubt that we will once again play a wonderful host. Thank you Longcroft!

Safe Happy Places

I gave up leaving my cats anywhere until Longcroft. Loria tamed both of my difficult and nervy cats, one use to being outdoors all the time and the other with aches and pains. The hotels are exceptionally clean, small, safe happy places, They could not do more for you and your requests and it shows in how content my cats were on return.

Excellent Hotel & Service. From the moment we visited Longcroft , my wife & I knew we had made the right choice. We were impressed with the standard & cleanliness of the cat suites & Jo is so welcoming & enthusiastic that we felt confident Longcroft was the purrfect Hotel for our kitten "Baby Crystal". While we were away we were sent us regular updates & pics which was very re-assuring & helped us enjoy our break.
