Longcroft St Albans offers just five luxury suites, located in owner Lucy’s picturesque garden and providing round the clock supervision, security and consistency of care for your cats. The peaceful location is perfect for both indoor and outdoor loving guests – a calm retreat designed with comfort and feline happiness in mind.

You’ll have placed your cat in the very best hands. Longcroft St Albans is part of our award-winning family of boutique cat hotels, each individually owned and lovingly run by feline experts dedicated to personalised care. Animal welfare is at the heart of everything we do and every cat receives plenty of playtime and one on one attention. All cat owners receive regular updates and photos throughout their kitty’s stay, giving them complete peace of mind that their feline family members are safe, happy, and thoroughly pampered.

Each of our suites comes complete with a thermostatically controlled bedroom, a wrought-iron bed with soft bedding, and an adjoining private play area that brings the outdoors safely in. Every guest can enjoy fresh air and the sights and sounds of nature while remaining cosy, secure and enclosed. Each suite features a full-height cat tree with sunbathing platforms and privacy films between suites. Daily housekeeping with meticulous litter care ensures every suite remains clean, calm and beautifully maintained.

Throughout their stay we provide tailored enrichment, gentle grooming, care needs and mealtimes to meet each guest’s established routine. For owners who value exceptional standards or for felines with more specific needs, we offer our Luxury All Inclusive Package and Medical Care packages are available. We can provide chauffeur travel arrangements on request.

    Lucy left behind a fast-paced corporate career in marketing – including many years as a Director at Starbucks – in search of a more meaningful work-life balance after the birth of her second daughter. When Lucy met Longcroft founder Abi Purser in 2012, it marked the beginning of a life-changing partnership. Lucy has always had a deep affection for cats – not just as companions, but as complex, characterful individuals. She delights in getting to know her feline guests, whether they’re confident and cuddly, shy and sensitive, or curious and full of energy. From mischievous Maine Coons to dainty Siamese and gentle seniors needing a little extra care, Lucy tailors each stay with knowledge, empathy and a genuine passion for feline welfare.

Running my own Longcroft hotel gives me that, while being part of a supportive and passionate team and doing a job I adore! I love the variety – every kitty has a unique personality and set of needs. Ollie loved his little bed and when I collected him he was calm and looking very clean and smart. Gill obviously adores cats and made him feel at ease during his stay.     I would recommend Gill to anyone that has cats and assure you that they will be looked after exceptionally well and they will also enjoy their holiday whilst you enjoy yours! Trying to find a cattery that you trust, feel that your cat is safe and in a clean and healthy environment is difficult to do (especially if you have not left your cat before) but as soon as I met Gill and delivered our 6 month Kitten Peanut to her I felt so happy and any worry soon disappeared. Gill is a lovely caring person who treated Peanut as one of her own, The Luxury Cat Hotel is spotless, clean, plenty of room in the suite and he was looked after so well I don't think he wanted to come home!

    We found Gill's cat hotel by luck when we were looking for a nice place to stay for our little cat Bella. As soon as we met Gill we knew we had found the purrfect place. Immaculately clean and warm, the Longcroft Cat Hotel is top class. Gill went out of her way to ensure that Bella was exceptionally well cared for. We received daily texts and photos which was a lovely touch and very reassuring. When Bella came home, she was very contented and settled. Clearly, she had had a very happy holiday!! Highly recommended.

    We've already booked again for our Summer break

    Maya has just returned from a 10 day stay being pampered by the wonderful Gill at Longcroft St Albans. I don't mean to be disparaging about the hard working people at 'normal' catteries but Maya returned from one of the better ones in the Summer clearly traumatised. She is a timid pedigree and mainly an indoor cat. She was so much happier at Longcroft and this time we could also relax while we were away, enjoying the regular pics and emails from Gill. Maya could enjoy her regular food, toys and bowl and was perfectly groomed too. We've already booked again for our Summer break. Thanks again Gill.

    A lovely, peaceful location

    Amazing service from Ann and so accommodating. She was so patient and explained everything thoroughly from the very beginning. She sent photos of our little cat Miku which was great reassurance. The hotel is set in a lovely, peaceful location which I loved and I am sure Miku appreciated too. Will definitely be booking her again.
