Animal welfare is at the heart of everything we do and every cat receives plenty of playtime and one on one attention. All cat owners receive regular updates and photos throughout their kitty’s stay, giving them complete peace of mind that their feline family members are safe, happy, and thoroughly pampered.

Each of our suites comes complete with a thermostatically controlled bedroom, a wrought-iron bed with soft bedding, and an adjoining private play area that brings the outdoors safely in. Every guest can enjoy fresh air and the sights and sounds of nature while remaining cosy, secure and enclosed. Each suite features a full-height cat tree with sunbathing platforms and privacy films between suites. Daily housekeeping with meticulous litter care ensures every suite remains clean, calm and beautifully maintained.

Throughout their stay we provide tailored enrichment, gentle grooming, care needs and mealtimes to meet each guest’s established routine. For owners who value exceptional standards or for felines with more specific needs, we offer our Luxury All Inclusive Package and Medical Care packages are available. We can provide chauffeur travel arrangements on request.

    Longcroft Bury St Edmunds is run by cat lover Lorna and is set in more than eight acres of gardens at Lorna’s home, with stunning, far reaching views over the glorious
    surrounding countryside.

    “I live with my husband Freddie, as well as our gorgeous two British Shorthair cats, Poodles and Bluebelle, who most definitely rule the roost! I've been a life-long cat lover but was
    unable to have cats for many years when I lived in London, working as a property developer and landlord. A month after getting married and moving to the country, our gorgeous two
    cats joined us and we now fully embrace country life!”

    Lorna discovered Longcroft when searching for suitable holiday accommodation for her two beloved pussycats: “When it came to finding somewhere for Poodles and Bluebelle when we
    went away, I was extremely disappointed by the vast majority of catteries available, and was uncomfortable leaving them in an environment that I felt was not caring enough. But then I
    read an article about Abi and Longcroft and a light went off in my head! This was exactly what I wanted to be able to offer to other people who feel the same as I do, who want to be
    able to leave their beloved cats, knowing they will be looked after with love and the highest level of care and expertise.

    The place was spotless

    First time needing a place for our Mocha to stay when we went away. As soon as I meet Lorna I felt so at ease. So lovely and welcoming for Mocha and the place was spotless. We got little updates every 2 days or so, which really cheered my daughter up to see Mocha getting on with his little holiday. Mocha came back happy and content, couldn’t of asked for more.

    Longcroft went far and beyond

    We were so happy with our service received from Lorna at Longcroft. Our cat needs oral medication by liquid syringe every day and this was no problem for Lorna, and this is hard to find at some catteries. We had been let down last minute by our usual cattery and Longcroft went far and beyond to help us last minute. We felt confident leaving our older cat with Lorna. He was well looked after and content when we collected him. We wouldn’t hesitate to use her again.

    Very happy with the experience

    We've used Longcroft at Bury St Edmunds half a dozen times now in the last year for stays of varying lengths. Our cat Billie who is later in years always returns fit and healthy and Lorna is happy to administer his medication. Billie loves the cat trees in each of suites and we get regular pictures and updates on his progress which puts your mind at ease whilst away and always a welcome treat to receive a photo of your beloved pet. Lorna is always very responsive to emails and accommodating around drop off and pick up times. Very happy with the experience at Longcroft Bury.

    And OMG, thank god for Lorna and Longcroft Bury St Edmunds! Strudel was so well cared for and clearly had a great holiday himself! So much so he didn't want to leave Lorna and even pined for her for a while (well at least till he spotted butterflies that needed chasing in the garden). We are thrilled that from now on we can go away and relax knowing our boy is cared for in a way that could not be even remotely bettered elsewhere. We had regular updates and photos of him from Lorna, and it was soooo reassuring to see Strudel happy and enjoying himself. Impeccable service from Lorna, providing not just a spacious comfortable, clean home for her guest cat's, but real care and love too.

    Immaculately clean and stimulating accommodation

    This was the first time I left my cats in boarding accommodation. From the very first moment I spoke to Lorna I knew that they would be extremely well cared for. She is a lovely and friendly person who bent over backwards to manage to accommodate them at what must be a very busy time of year for her (August). She answered any questions I had quickly. Nothing is too much trouble for Longcroft and my two cats were superbly looked after. Whilst we were away Lorna emailed me some lovely pictures of my cats who were clearly enjoying the attention in their immaculately clean and stimulating accommodation. The standards of hygiene cannot be faulted. They were regularly groomed and played with and could watch the wildlife from their windows happily. It's a fantastic place and two very happy cats came home with some treats from Longcroft in tow. I cannot rate them highly enough and only hope there is space for them next time we go away.
