Each of the hotel’s eight luxury suites has its own climate-controlled bedroom, leading to a private, safe, garden play area, complete with multi-storey viewing platforms for feline guests to play or relax. The cat hotel is situated in over eight acres of gardens with far reaching views over the glorious surrounding countryside. The hotel is conveniently located just 5 minutes from the A14 and 15 minutes from Bury St Edmunds.

    Meet The Family

    Longcroft Bury St Edmunds is run by cat lover Lorna and is set in more than eight acres of gardens at Lorna’s home, with stunning, far reaching views over the glorious
    surrounding countryside.

    “I live with my husband Freddie, as well as our gorgeous two British Shorthair cats, Poodles and Bluebelle, who most definitely rule the roost! I've been a life-long cat lover but was
    unable to have cats for many years when I lived in London, working as a property developer and landlord. A month after getting married and moving to the country, our gorgeous two
    cats joined us and we now fully embrace country life!”

    Lorna discovered Longcroft when searching for suitable holiday accommodation for her two beloved pussycats: “When it came to finding somewhere for Poodles and Bluebelle when we
    went away, I was extremely disappointed by the vast majority of catteries available, and was uncomfortable leaving them in an environment that I felt was not caring enough. But then I
    read an article about Abi and Longcroft and a light went off in my head! This was exactly what I wanted to be able to offer to other people who feel the same as I do, who want to be
    able to leave their beloved cats, knowing they will be looked after with love and the highest level of care and expertise.”

    The place was spotless

    First time needing a place for our Mocha to stay when we went away. As soon as I meet Lorna I felt so at ease. So lovely and welcoming for Mocha and the place was spotless. We got little updates every 2 days or so, which really cheered my daughter up to see Mocha getting on with his little holiday. Mocha came back happy and content, couldn’t of asked for more.

    Longcroft went far and beyond

    We were so happy with our service received from Lorna at Longcroft. Our cat needs oral medication by liquid syringe every day and this was no problem for Lorna, and this is hard to find at some catteries. We had been let down last minute by our usual cattery and Longcroft went far and beyond to help us last minute. We felt confident leaving our older cat with Lorna. He was well looked after and content when we collected him. We wouldn’t hesitate to use her again.

    Very happy with the experience

    We've used Longcroft at Bury St Edmunds half a dozen times now in the last year for stays of varying lengths. Our cat Billie who is later in years always returns fit and healthy and Lorna is happy to administer his medication. Billie loves the cat trees in each of suites and we get regular pictures and updates on his progress which puts your mind at ease whilst away and always a welcome treat to receive a photo of your beloved pet. Lorna is always very responsive to emails and accommodating around drop off and pick up times. Very happy with the experience at Longcroft Bury.

    And OMG, thank god for Lorna and Longcroft Bury St Edmunds! Strudel was so well cared for and clearly had a great holiday himself! So much so he didn't want to leave Lorna and even pined for her for a while (well at least till he spotted butterflies that needed chasing in the garden). We are thrilled that from now on we can go away and relax knowing our boy is cared for in a way that could not be even remotely bettered elsewhere. We had regular updates and photos of him from Lorna, and it was soooo reassuring to see Strudel happy and enjoying himself. Impeccable service from Lorna, providing not just a spacious comfortable, clean home for her guest cat's, but real care and love too.

    This was the first time I left my cats in boarding accommodation. From the very first moment I spoke to Lorna I knew that they would be extremely well cared for. She is a lovely and friendly person who bent over backwards to manage to accommodate them at what must be a very busy time of year for her (August). She answered any questions I had quickly. Nothing is too much trouble for Longcroft and my two cats were superbly looked after. Whilst we were away Lorna emailed me some lovely pictures of my cats who were clearly enjoying the attention in their immaculately clean and stimulating accommodation. The standards of hygiene cannot be faulted. They were regularly groomed and played with and could watch the wildlife from their windows happily. It's a fantastic place and two very happy cats came home with some treats from Longcroft in tow. I cannot rate them highly enough and only hope there is space for them next time we go away.

    5 star car hotel!My cat Max recently stayed here for 10 days, Lorna was amazing from the beginning and made it easy to book, she is very quick to respond at any time! We were reassured when dropping max off and were able to spend time with Max in his new room making sure he was settled, he warmed to Lorna immediately and even gave her a slow blink infront of us before we left. Whilst we were away we were updated regularly with lovely photos of Max on his holiday. Overall a great experience and I look forwards to booking many more stays for Max in the future.Couldn’t recommend more! Thank you Lorna!

    What an a wonderful experience. We left Luna, our dear little two year old British Shorthair Bengal cross with Lorna for 12 days whilst we were away on a cruise. We received regular updates and photos and when we collected Luna at the end of her stay she was calm and happy. The hotel is spotlessly clean and the rooms are spacious and comfortable. Absolutely no hesitation in recommending Longcroft and we will definitely be back again very soon.

    We left our cat Inca with Lorna at Longcroft for a little under 2 weeks - it was the first time we'd left Inca with anyone outside the house for any period of time, and we were quite nervous about it because Inca is very, very shy around strangers.We had absolutely nothing to worry about! Lorna took wonderful care of Inca, and sent us regular updates - with photos - on how Inca was doing for our peace of mind.The facilities are modern and comfortable - large, climate controlled rooms with huge glass windows looking out into nature, with cat trees and soft beds. Lorna is the only person looking after the cats who stay at Longcroft, so Inca got to know her well. And the price is extremely reasonable for everything Inca got, including good food and playtime. Lorna is extremely amenable and provides superb customer service as well.Overall, we recommend Longcroft without reservations; we shall definitely have Inca stay again. After all, if Inca is happy, so are we!

    Lorna takes amazing care of our ragdoll Qwerty when we’re away on holiday. He is always very relaxed when he stays and he receives plenty of play and brush sessions! We’re kept up to date with pictures regularly which is great as we miss him so much when we’re away. The suites are extremely clean and have plenty of light and space. It’s such a lovely quiet setting for the cats and there’s plenty of wildlife for them to watch… ducks, pheasants, squirrels and more! Lorna will be my go to whenever we’re away. Thank you!

    This was my first time leaving my beloved Sandy at Longcroft, and the care and attention he received from Lorna far outdid any other cattery I have used. I went away on a luxury cruise, and the photos that Lorna sent made many passengers comment that Sandy was being treated better than us! He is going back to Longcroft next year for four weeks to his new second Mum, Lorna. I can't think of any higher recommendation than that!

    We left our 3 year old Siberian cat with Lorna at Bury St Edmunds for 10 days. Lorna looked after Darcy extremely well. The suit was clean and spacious. We were very anxious as this was the first time leaving Darcy but Lorna kept us updated throughout her stay with pictures. Darcy seemed very relaxed, well fed and happy when we picked her up. As soon as we got home she was her usual self and was not withdrawn which made has think that she must have had a pleasant time at Longcroft. Lorna was also very accommodating with pick up time and let us take Darcy back on a Sunday. Thank you Lorna for looking after Darcy so well!

    We were so happy with our service received from Lorna at Longcroft.
