Meet The Family

Chris and Judith are the proud owners of Longcroft Margate and their own 3 cats Angel, Buzz and George. Judith has been a cat lover from a very young age, her first cat Sidney would always wait by the school gates and would walk her home! Judith’s other love is of Shamus her beautiful horse who is stabled close by.

'We were inspired by a family friend who had taken the plunge and opened her own Longcroft Hotel last year… she has never looked back so it seemed perfect timing for us and we couldn’t believe how special the hotel was.

We are so excited about opening the first Longcroft Hotel in Kent, and can’t wait to offer our guests and their owners exceptional service and loving care in our stunning hotel by the sea.'

Judith has almost 30 years’ experience running her own business as an executive assistant. Chris has worked in the financial services industry for many years and having been recently offered redundancy, can’t wait to try out his new role taking care of their gorgeous hotel guests!

Judith's daily messages reassured us that they were happy and, when we collected them, they seemed really at home in their suite. Our little fur baby Jasmine cannot thank Longcroft Margate (Judith) for being so patient and understanding and taking such good care of her, she was spoilt rotten and when it came to the options of meals.........So much so that when we went to pick her up, unlike other catterys where Jasmine can't wait to get home this time she didn't want to leave.10 out of 10, will be returning.

It was first time for my 10 month old kitten to stay at hotel. I was really nervous at first but once I met Judith, I felt comfortable, she was very friendly and professional. All rooms for cats were very clean and spacious, and nice bed and cat tower.She stayed just 2 nights but Judith send me her pics everyday. It was nice to know how my cat was when I was always from her.I highly recommend someone who wants your cats have a nice relax time and also you feel comfortable while you are away.I definitely come back with her.Thank you.

Molly loved it here. We told Judith she was a scardy cat and she provided a safe hiding place for her by placing her blanket over the bed. Super place. Would recommend Longcroft as home from home for cats.

If your cat is looking for a luxury holiday while you are away let Judith take care of your fur baby in just the way you would. Nothing is too much trouble. Purpose built rooms, comfy beds, toys to play with, towers to climb - cat heaven. Judith will groom and feed to your requirements and send you piccies while you are away so you know all is well. It was lovely to know that Bella was being looked after in the manner to which she has become accustomed!!!

My cat had such a nice time while she was here this year (July 2019) and Judith kept me up to date with pictures and messages. We were delayed on the way back so to Judith very helpfully offered to keep her another night so as not to stress us all as we would've had to collect her after 10pm which she wouldn't have liked at all. I would highly recommend using this place and I will definitely be using again when we go away.

While there are extra-luxurious options available if you want them, what impressed us was the excellent care, the kind of care that reduces stress and makes a stay as enjoyable for the animal as it can be. Pens are large, comfortable, light and airy and Judith is a knowledgeable and warm person who really understands and loves cats and, I think, treats them as individuals.Returning a 25 year old gal with several health problems to her owner in very good shape after a change of scene & routine is no mean feat. Really impressed & grateful!

Our 10 year old rescue cat Mollie spent a week with Judith at Longcroft and it was clear when we picked her up she had been really looked after with cuddles, play and grooming sessions. This was the first time I have boarded out my two cats Mizzy and Teaser, I was a bit anxious especially with Teaser. On leaving the cats Judith made me feel perfectly at ease, she just had that special touch. The hotel was spotless, and it was great to choose drop off and pick up times. On picking them up I had a job to get them back into the cat carriers they just did not want to leave. I thoroughly recommend Longcroft Margate, Judith obviously knows cats and their behaviour inside out. I would definitely use again.

I have just picked my kitties up from Longcroft for the second time and again they have come back perfectly groomed (they are super soft!) and wanting lots of play time! Judith (the owner) is fantastic and really makes you feel comfortable with leaving your kitties in her care. She knew I was really worried after one of mine went missing previously and made me feel so comfortable that they would be safe and secure. I recognise that the cost is a little higher but they literally get a 5 star personalised stay. Judith knows each kitty’s characteristics along with their likes and dislikes meaning that they get poached salmon instead of prawns at dinner time, they get the dreamies in the flavour they like, they get their cat milk on a schedule (as one of mine is obsessed with it!) and at play time they get the toys they like. I also get the updates I need to make me feel happy that I have happy kitties! Thanks Judith - they miss you already! Xx

Thank you Longcroft Margate for looking after my babies like they were your own! We put our cats into Longcroft after we had our son as we were most definitely overwhelmed! I had left them at a cattery before and came home to find two skinny unhappy cats so I was weary about putting them in again; I needn’t have been at all. Judith looked after our cats better than we do and kept in constant touch sending me pictures and messages! They were so happy there and I’m so happy Judith changed our mind about catteries (although I will only put them in Longcroft again) and the amazing care they offer. Judith did such a great job organising their stay, arranging a chauffeur, keeping in touch to let us know they arrived and reassuring us they were ok; I can honestly say I didn’t worry once while they were there.If you are looking for somewhere your fur babies will be treated like they are in a 5* hotel this is the place! Thank you so much Judith for the amazing care and love you showed our babies!

This was the first time we've left our cats anywhere, at first we were skeptical and worried. But after seeing their premises and speaking with the lovely owner we felt reassured. Dispite the booking being made at short notice, Longcroft were very accommodating (Even though it was outside usual business hours). We received an update on an almost daily basis updating us on our kitties progress, along with pictures. We would highly recommend Longcroft to any one requiring their services! The service is certainly more expensive than average but you get what you pay for and in this case it is definitely a five star hotel for felines!

WOW!! I cannot thank Judith enough for the love and care she gave Teddy for the 3 weeks whilst he was at Longcroft. The first day I went to view the hotel I knew this was the place for Teddy to go whilst we went off to Florida. Judith knew how hard it was for me to leave Teddy so she kindly offered to come and pick him up to make our 'goodbye' a little easier. Whilst away, I had updates throughout the whole 3 weeks and it honestly put the biggest smile on my face, he looked so happy and watching the videos she sent just proved to me he was having the best time ever!!!On returning to the UK I was so excited to go and pick up Teddy but when we got to the hotel - he seemed more interested in staying to play with his toys in his air-conditioned suite rather than coming home with us. If only cats could talk...I'd love to know about all the fun times he had with Judith, but I guess that will remain their secret! :)Thank you once again for your love, care and professionalism - it's second to none! see you at check in again next year ;)

I can't praise this service enough! We were really nervous about leaving our rescue cat for the 1st time since we got her, as she had suffered severe abuse and neglect before being rehabilitated by cats in crisis and re-homed with us. Well, we had no need to worry at all; Judith took great care of her throughout her 5 day stay and sent us photos every day to keep us from worrying. It was easy to arrange and Judith was able to accommodate our changing plans and meet all of Nessie's particular needs and nuances. We've already booked her in for her next short stay in March next year and feel confident she will be well taken care of. Thank you guys!

Judith came to my rescue when I was struggling to find somewhere for my lovely cat Biscuit to stay in August 2017. She took him in and looked after him like her own. She also kept him for far longer when we found we couldn't actually move into our house after the holidays! Judith would send me regular updates. The accommodation is fantastic and clean. The owner, Judith, has taken very good care of our fur baby Elsa, she always comes home happy and content (once we can get her to leave her comfortable pad). We have used the Margate hotel for around 2 weeks, and it is our third stay in the Longcroft chain in England. Excellent hotel, amazing facility for any type of cat, and it really responds to the title "luxury"! Judith - the owner- have done an amazing job and more than that. We were getting great set of pictures almost every day - every second day by email with a short description on how the cat was doing. We live in London, and Judith was extremely flexible and understanding with the time of check in and out due to our travel times. Cat was very happy and relaxed when we picked her up. I have always found it difficult leaving my four cats at a cattery but I can honestly say that Longcroft Margate is a cut above the rest! Judith is great and my cats were truly spoilt during their stay of nearly 3 weeks. In fact I have never seen them look so well when we picked them up. I would highly recommend the Hotel and I wont be sending my feline family anywhere else except for Longcroft again. It really gave us piece of mind knowing that they were staying in such a lovely place and the regular updates and pictures that Judith sent were a real treat. A wonderful place and we look forward to booking up again soon.
