We’re thrilled to announce that Longcroft Chelmsford has a brand-new home and a wonderful new owner, Jenny. Opening at the beginning of October, this boutique cat hotel offers six beautifully designed suites, each with a thermostatically controlled bedroom leading to a private play area where guests can climb, explore, and relax.

Meet Jenny

Jenny is passionate about cats and is excited to be welcoming feline guests from across Essex, and beyond, into her new hotel:

“I love animals and especially cats. As a child, my parents always had cats and then when Ian and I had our own home together we brought home our own cat, Percy, who we loved to bits. And we haven’t looked back! When a friend told me that Longcroft Chelmsford was closing and looking for new owners, it was like a bolt of lightning. I made enquiries the very next day and I am now so excited to be running this amazing cat hotel. I am really looking forward to building a trusting relationship with my customers and a caring and nurturing relationship with their special felines.”

Before embarking on her Longcroft journey, Jenny successfully ran her own cleaning business, while her husband Ian works as a Maintenance Manager. Together, they are committed to ensuring Longcroft Chelmsford is a calm, secure, and happy retreat for every guest.

Longcroft Chelmsford sits in Jenny’s pretty and private garden in the peaceful village of Galleywood, just south of Chelmsford. With excellent transport links – only 35 minutes from Central London by train, quick access to the A12, and just 30 minutes from Stansted Airport – the hotel is ideally placed for cat owners across Essex and beyond. Maldon, Witham, and Harlow are also within easy reach.

GRAND OPENING OF NEW LONGCROFT CHELMSFORD: Sunday 12^th October 2025, 12 – 2pm

Jenny will welcome local residents, customers and friends to the Grand Opening of her brand-new state-of-the-art cat hotel. Guests will enjoy some Longcroft hospitality: sampling Longcroft cupcakes, Prosecco and the opportunity to take a peek at the gorgeous new hotel and its stunning setting. The first 50 guests will each receive a Longcroft goody bag.
