Deputy Mayor, Cllr Smita Rajesh cut the ribbon to officially open the New Longcroft Chelmsford Hotel on Sunday 12^th October 2025. Owner Jenny proudly welcomed special guests, including the Deputy Mayor and her consort Rajesh Kumar, Phil Wharam and Lynfa from Chelmsford Community Radio and many local small business owners, customers and friends. Jenny was thrilled to receive such warm and enthusiastic support from her guests, who enjoyed some Longcroft hospitality, including Prosecco and Longcroft cupcakes, as well as the chance to view the gorgeous new six suite hotel.

Meet Jenny

Jenny is passionate about cats and is excited to be welcoming feline guests from across Essex, and beyond, into her new hotel:

“I love animals and especially cats. As a child, my parents always had cats and then when Ian and I had our own home together we brought home our own cat, Percy, who we loved to bits. I am now so excited to be running this amazing cat hotel. I am really looking forward to building a trusting relationship with my customers and a caring and nurturing relationship with their special felines.”

Before embarking on her Longcroft journey, Jenny successfully ran her own cleaning business, while her husband Ian works as a Maintenance Manager. Together, they are committed to ensuring Longcroft Chelmsford is a calm, secure, and happy retreat for every guest.

The Perfect Location

Each of the six suites at Longcroft Chelmsford includes a thermostatically controlled bedroom leading to a private play area where guests can climb, explore, and relax. Longcroft Chelmsford sits in Jenny’s pretty and private garden in the peaceful village of Galleywood, just south of Chelmsford. With excellent transport links – only 35 minutes from Central London by train, quick access to the A12, and just 30 minutes from Stansted Airport – the hotel is ideally placed for cat owners across Essex and beyond. Maldon, Witham, and Harlow are also within easy reach.
