The old adage that cats have nine lives does have some truth to it – while our curious feline friends often find themselves in a pickle, they seem to always escape scot-free. That doesn’t mean we shouldn’t take precautions to protect our precious pets, though. That’s why today we’re sharing some simple things to keep in mind to make your home and garden safer for your cats.
Inside the home, it’s important to tidy away electrical wires and foods that could harm your furry friend – these include grapes and raisins, raw eggs and chocolate. Just to be on the safe side, it’s also a good idea to check your washer and dryer for a napping feline before turning these appliances on.
In the garden, it’s good to know which plants are toxic to cats. Lilies and daffodils are offenders popular both in gardens and inside the home, but due to their poisonous nature, they are best avoided by cat lovers. Hydrangeas, foxglove and azaleas should also be left out of a cat-friendly garden.
