Last Sunday Mayoress Ruth Bennett and around 100 local people gathered for the Grand Opening of Orpington’s new Longcroft Luxury Cat Hotel. Orpington resident Daisy Carrarini was delighted to be joined by so many guests for the opening of her luxury boutique cat hotel, which offers five-star accommodation for feline guests while their owners are on holiday. The sun shone and guests enjoyed cupcakes and Prosecco as they gathered to watch Mayoress Ruth Bennett cut the ribbon and make the launch of Daisy’s exciting new venture official.
Mayoress Ruth Bennett is a cat lover and owner herself and spoke passionately about cat and animal welfare at the launch. She explained the value and importance of giving cat owners peace of mind when they leave their beloved pets in someone else’s charge. She recognised that by looking after only a small number of cats at a time, Longcroft Orpington is able to give cats a home from home experience, which in turn gives owners reassurance that their pets receive the very best of care.
Daisy Carrarini said of the launch: “I was thrilled that Mayoress Ruth Bennett and so many guests were able to join us for the launch of Longcroft Orpington on Sunday. I am so excited to be opening my very own cat hotel, combining my love for animals with the opportunity to run my own business right here from my own home. We already have lots of bookings and I love meeting every guest and getting to know them and their owners. I already feel like the cat that’s got the cream!”
Daisy’s Orpington cat hotel is located in the idyllic, leafy surrounds of her garden. It is the latest addition to the ‘Longcroft Luxury Cat Hotel’ group – the UK’s first luxury hotel brand for cats.
Longcroft Orpington’s custom built, fully-licensed accommodation comprises six luxury suites. Each suite includes an individual, climate-controlled bedroom, leading onto a private, safe, garden play area, complete with multi-storey viewing platforms for feline guests to play or relax.
The experience Longcroft Orpington offers is designed to be as close to the guests’ home life as possible, with one-on-one care and room service offered as standard. Daisy will meticulously plan every detail for her feline guests, with animal welfare, luxury and hygiene in mind. Daisy will also put owners’ minds at rest by sending them regular updates and photographs of their feline friends enjoying their kitty retreats. Longcroft Orpington maintains the same high standards as all the hotels in the Longcroft Luxury Cat Hotel group, offering a host of added extras, including a cat chauffeur service, room service with a choice of dishes from the ‘A La Cat Menu’, kitty pampering experiences and the ‘Milky Whiskers Turn Down Service’.
Having experienced first-hand the benefits of using a Longcroft Cat hotel for her beloved cat Terry, a bi-colour British short-haired male, Daisy was keen to translate her passion for cat welfare into the creation of her own cat hotel: “I was delighted to see how happy and well looked after Terry was when we returned from our annual holiday and when we moved house. After moving to our new home in Orpington, with a spacious garden, I looked into opening my own boutique hotel with Longcroft. I felt I too could offer the very best of care for people’s beloved feline companions, giving their owners the same peace of mind as I received from the first-class experience that Longcroft offers.”
Daisy Carrarini and her husband, Kim, moved to Oprington, from their previous, busy Central London location, two and a half years ago. Daisy’s family includes her two adorable boys, Rufus, aged 11, and Charlie, almost one, and of course their much-loved feline companion, Terry. The family has welcomed the move to their new home, with spacious garden surrounded by beautiful woodland. Daisy has over 15 years’ experience in the luxury fashion industry, but felt opening her Longcroft Luxury Cat Hotel was the perfect opportunity to combine her love of cats and dedication to animal welfare with running a business that would work purr-fectly alongside her family life!
Longcroft is the UK’s only luxury hotel group for cats. Founded in 2010, the company has grown rapidly thanks to its revolutionary approach to cat boarding, placing animal welfare at its heart. Longcroft offers peace of mind to the most discerning cat owners when they go away, by providing a tailored, home-from-home experience for its feline guests.
Longcroft Luxury Cat Hotel Group is the vision of founder and cat lover, Abi Purser. She opened the very first hotel in Welwyn Garden City, Hertfordshire, in 2010, in response to the poor standard of cat accommodation and care offered across the UK. Abi still runs the boutique cat hotel today and there are now 20 Longcroft Cat Hotels in the UK, which all follow the Longcroft five-star model. In addition to Orpington, two further hotels are scheduled to open this year, which will take the total to 23 by the end of 2019.
