New Hotel Receives a Warm Welcome in Scotland
The sun was shining and more than 100 guests turned out for the Grand Opening of Scotland’s First Longcroft Luxury Cat Hotel in Garmouth, on Sunday 13th September 2026. The feel-good community event, run by owners Nicole Gray and her husband Judd, marked a brilliant start for their new business. The hotel was officially opened by special guest Cllr Marc Macrae, who cut the ribbon, alongside the team from the Moray Branch of Cats Protection and Founder of Longcroft Luxury Cat Hotels, Abi Purser.
Cllr Macrae was fully supportive of the cat hotel’s original planning application, describing the business as forward thinking, innovative and a real gem for the local community. The event sparked local media interest, with interviews carried out throughout the day. Guests were amazed by the quality of the build, and many who came along to see the hotel booked their cat in on the spot! They sipped drinks in the sunshine and took the chance to look around the state-of-the-art facilities, meeting Nicole and Judd along the way.
The cat loving couple has already begun welcoming adorable feline guests to their boutique hotel, which offers a total of just eight luxury suites, four in each of its two bespoke buildings. Each suite has its own climate-controlled bedroom, leading to a private, safe play area with multi storey viewing platforms for feline guests to play or relax, along with storm shutters and underfloor heating throughout, for year-round comfort.
